In my thrifting adventures I've come across a few old fashioned kitchen scales. I always liked them, I'm not quite sure why even. Maybe because they're mechanical? Or just because they're old? Anyway, I never bought one because (1) we already have digital kitchen scales at home and (2) they might not be exact anymore and (3) they take up a lot of space!

But a few weeks ago I was thrifting with my aunt and when we got to the pile of old kitchen scales, she gave me the idea to use them for plants! So I chose the one with the deepest dish, bought some garden cress seeds and planted away:

They grow so fast! Took about 4 days and they were ready to eat. In a way I didn't want to cut them, I really like how the scales look filled with green.
