My Plants - Cherry Tomatoes & Strawberries

My Plants - Cherry Tomatoes & Strawberries

One of my new years resolutions (well, I set my goals at the beginning of february, but you know...) was to start growing plants! When I was about twelve years old, I got an orchid and it totally died, because I didn't know how to care for it properly (didn't know they just needed a bath once a week!). But back then, I didn't know that, I just thought I was really bad with plants.
Well, last summer I bought a Begonia plant with beautiful pink flowers, and it didn't die! The flowers are gone, yeah, but the plant itself kept growing and growing, I had to repot and prune (=basically trim the plant) it! I'm hoping the flowers will come back this summer. So I also got a basil plant (it had a cameo in my DIY bunny cardholder post!). That one did almost die once when I was barely at home for a week and forgot to tell someone to water it. But I cut it back all the way (it looked really sad!) and it came back again!
So I felt ready to try growing some food this year! I bought a ton of seeds at the grocery store, and planted the cherry tomatoes (two different kinds) and strawberries. It was so much fun watching them grow, every day I'd think "whaat, they're still alive? And they're bigger than yesterday!". The strawberries took a little longer to sprout than the cherry tomatos.

The strawberries are definitely slower, they're only just starting to sprout actual leaves (what they have now are the two leaves from sprouting, don't know if those have a specific name, their shape is different from the actual leaves the plant will grow, it's the same with the cherry tomatoes):

I'm excited for the strawberries! They're the small but sweet kind, like the ones whe had in the garden where we used to live.
PS: I went to the craft & hobby store today and stocked up on felt, glue, glitter, fimo, modpoge-ey stuff, branches, wood and some other stuff, and it has lightened my mood and inspired me so much! I'm going to start working on some DIY projects :)
